Dear Wikipedians,

I marked this article as an {auto-stub}, because the company's timeline covers here the pre-Chrysler period only. Dodge still exists today as a division of DaimlerChrysler, therefore, its history should cover all events until now. For comparison,see: Lincoln automobile, an excellent entry.

I've been eyeing this section for a while as greatly in need of expansion/editing/adjustment/etc. I added some various tweaks to this page (lots of new concept car links, many of which will need pages devoted to them now - or perhaps a separate new page for Dodge concept cars!), but I think I can make some more substantial edits soon and expand the historical aspect. And it's done. I revised out some of the previously existing sections into new pages (like the new List of Dodge concept vehicles), and yet this article still ended up being rather large. Added photos to spice things up a bit, and did some more general cleanup and adjustment. I think, in the near future, I will be splitting some of the truck info out into a new Dodge Trucks page. A couple of questions

The Dodge SRT-4 appears in the timeline as having ended its run in the 2005 model year, same as the rest of the Dodge Neon variants. The list of US models in the body of this article lists the model as current. Which is correct, now that the Dodge Caliber is effectively replacing the Neon?

Also, why is this article in Category:Defunct American car companies? The company has been sold to the Germans, but the car is still manufactured. --carlb 05:04, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

The Neon's final US model year (and year of production) was 2005. Same for the SRT4. The Caliber was introduced in the States as an early 2007 model during calendar 2006, and the rest of the world followed not long after. The new Caliber SRT4, however, is just coming out as a 2008 - so technically, the SRT4 model is still current, just not the Neon. (I'm thinking that "SRT4" probably needs a disambiguation page now.) The 'new' Dodge, plus RAM in Europe?

Just a few points. Firstly, there is no Dodge Ram sold in Europe. I have no idea what the source of this information is? Large pickup trucks simply do not sell in that market - they are far too large for most European countries. Secondly, should there be a mention of the "new" Dodge? When Dodge re-invented itself in the 1990s with new models, a new logo, they called themselves the "New" Dodge. I believe this began in about 1993 with the Intrepid. Davez621

I have read that the Ram can be imported into certain countries on a personal basis, but not as a factory-authorized model. That said, I do remember recently seeing info about the Ram on Dodge's UK website - that may have changed now, though. Duncan1800 07:24, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Fratzog Merger proposal

Nobody seems to care, but it looks to me as it already is kind of merged in the Logo section. Just copy the info from Fratzog to there, and request deletion of Fratzog. In my opinion, this article is written like an ad

I'll cite a couple of examples.

Dodge Journey

Additions / Removals

Hello. I noticed that there is no mention of the DSM project that Dodge and Mitsubishi did in the mid-late 90's that spawned the Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Eagle Talon, and the Plymouth Laser, etc....I would think that a link to the DSM page or maybe just some information on that would be pertinent.

Also, The Dodge Neon SRT-4 was a U.S. only release from the years 2003 to 2005 (I'm a proud owner of one and a bit of an enthusiast). I disbelieve that any were sold in Europe at all...however the Caliber variant of the SRT-4 might be (of this I am unsure).

The Avenger and Stratus coupes are the only vehicles that Dodge had as part of the DSM project; I think I just neglected that originally in my effort to put together as much of the story as possible, so you're right. I'll see if I can work it in soon. As for the SRT-4 (Neon or Caliber), I know that some of the European auto mags have reviewed them, but I'm honestly not sure if they're officially sold there or not. If someone has sources... REDIRECTION

Why does "dodge" redirect here? The brand of car has virtually no meaning whatsoever outside of the US. This is totally unglobal, and is nothing but sock puppetry spam for the vehicle manufacturer.
