Clarification[edit]

"Bagley says Ames did not betray him, because he only knew about Polyakov's activities when he was working with the FBI, when he was still acting as a Soviet plant."

Very confusing sentence. This is the first and only mention of "bagley", who appears to be an author. Either introduce him (or better) rewrite in a way that explains why bagleys opinion matters. Also the structure of the sentence...i still don't understand. 'He only knew'.."he was working"..."he was still"..(which he?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:D:CF00:16F:18EA:6832:80AE:4A7A (talk) 18:10, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It is very interesting how many times it is stated that he was 'doing it on principle and not for money' It is possible that his motives for defection may have been fabricated by the CIA to increase anti-communist sentiments. More information on what he did and less on why he did it would be helpful to the article.

Year of death comment[edit]

Death is shown as 1988 but the opening paragraph says he was executed in 1986. 2601:46:4400:720:55C2:836C:61EB:CE9F (talk) 01:52, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
