Page name and lost talk[edit]

Shouldn't the page be renamed "Glenn Milstead" or "Divine" or "Harris Glenn Milstead" instead of the (apparently mispelled) Glen Milstead? I don't know how to do that but I would if I could...

Actually, there should already be a talk page for this article which explains why as I remember previous discussion and a subsequent move. Apparently it was deleted when the article was moved from what is now a redirect. Hyacinth 02:43, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Moving this article[edit]

If you're going to move this article can you please give reasons why it should be moved? I spent a week fixing up the redirects to the page only to have the article moved again. It's common courtesy if you're going to move a page that you should also correct the links that go with that page. Megan1967 05:52, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Tone of article[edit]

Please keep the tone neutral. In particular, talking about Milstead's hopes and aspirations is not very helpful. If he became accomplished as an actor, the reader can infer that this success was close to what he wanted. -- Pinktulip 06:19, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How can he be prematurely grey at 43 when he died at 42?

Sudden Death[edit]

This article mentions that Milstead was to play Uncle Otto on the tv show Married With Children. However on the Wikipedia article for Married With Children, it mentions that Milstead was to play Peggy's mother. Is one incorrect or was he to play two characters?

The Little Mermaid...[edit]

I have removed this following passage until it is sourced:

The design information was included, among other places, in an issue of People magazine published at around the same time as the movie was released. Including an interview with the charatcer designers acknowledging the influence.Otto4711 15:08, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of Death[edit]

A New York Times biography states that Divine died of an enlarged heart, not sleep apnea. Divine was 42 when he/she died while preparing for a guest apperance on Fox TV's "Married...With Children".

Image for the article[edit]

Name in article[edit]

Even though the article is titled "Divine," the name first given is Glenn Milstead. Divine was his persona. As such, I went through the article and replaced Divine with Milstead when the article was talking about the person, not the persona. "Actor"[edit]

What is the Wikipedia policy regarding the terms "actor" and "actress"? I'm all for using only "actor", but if "actress" is used it should be used here. This is the terminology drag queens use and it's a basic matter of respect.

For most drag performers actress and she are used, because they consider themselves female. Milstead never considered himself to be a woman, if you ever saw him in interviews he was very emphatic about only playing one. Therefore we use actor and he. The other Divine[edit]

I was looking for the article on Divine, who is also known as a musician/band/group by some people (in fact, I had no idea about him having been an actor), but in doing so, I came across Divine (group) (same as Divine (band)) instead.
