Extent[edit]

Concern[edit]

I have a real concern over this article - it seems to heavily contravene WP:CRYSTALBALL, specifically points 2, 3 and 5. At the moment it has not been verified that such a constituency will be created (3) - this will only be true when the Boundary Commission reports on its Review (and even then I think MPs still have to vote on it). Although reliable sources have commented on this, the content is still based on speculation, contravening point (5); I have done a quick BBC News search and the last mention of such a constituency was in February 2011, and again no definite statements were made. Also, we have no idea what such a constituency will be called (2) - IMO I doubt it will actually be called "Devonwall".

Other minor concerns is that the article doesn't adhere to a neutral point of view, but this can easily be fixed. Also the article states "it is a constituency" and was created in 2011. If it was to be created, it would be created in 2015 (most probably) when the results of the next election are announced (please see this old revision of the Truro and Falmouth constituency as a guide to writing about future constituencies).

But chiefly I don't think this would stand up to a PROD at the moment. And unless someone can find a reference to the constituency actually being created I think it would be worth nominating it for deletion and meging any useful content into a section within the main Devonwall article. As it has not been shown that a constituency of this name is going to be created I will put this up for AfD to get other editors' opinions as I do feel this article's existence is in breach of policy. It will be created when the law creates it, ire- can still be created in 2011. its first apllication/MP would bne in the next eklectionm (and can very well be 2015). What after the LB's thrashing this month..Lihaas (talk) 17:16, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Although I closed the AfD as keep, as long as the article is about the controversy over this potential seat rather than an actual seat, I think renaming the article is in order to reflect the actual content. Rlendog (talk) 17:57, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Historic border[edit]

The historic border has not always been in the same place "Several villages north of Launceston which are west of the Tamar were actually in Devon until the 1960s; part of the Rame Peninsula was in Devon until 1844." (River Tamar#Border) North Petherwin was one of the parishes in the former group; the reason in the case of Rame was that the district owed allegiance to the abbey of Tavistock so was included in Devon.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 10:07, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
