Delete this article[edit]

The Deshastha surname list was previously a separate page and was transferred to Wiktionary section. It was brought back to the main Deshastha brahmin article and so we have two parallel lists. There is no need for a third list and therefore this article should be deleted. I tried to locate the list on Wiktionary but I was unable to find it. As far as I could determine, the list does not exist on Wiktionary; if it exists, please post a link to it. Besides, why it was transferred to Wiktionary is a mystery to me. The rationale behind moving the list to its own article is that the article on Deshastha Brahmins has become too long because of it. Vijayan Mappidicherry, Vijayan means Victor and Mappidicherry is the surname, since our origin is from Mappidicherry Temple, which is in Kerala, Kasargaod Dist., Charvattur Panchayath. Mappidicherry tharavadu is a history in its traditional customs, where festivals (pooram)and rituals are conducted by joint hindu caste. The original name is Mappitta Cherry, which is later pronounced as Mappidicherry.

What about other Marathi Brahmins like Chitpawan and Karhade Brahmins[edit]

Are there any pages on Chitpawan Brahmin Surnames and Karhade Brahmin surnames? I could not find them. Thanks LukeEmily (talk) 17:31, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
