1963 is the Shorebirds founding[edit]

I've traced the team's establishment to the 1963 Lexington, NC based Lexington Giants. The team affiliated with the Braves later and became the Lexington Braves. The Braves affiliation moved to other cities after that. I checked the list of teams under the each city's page on Br Bullpen and found that there was no teams that played one season before the Braves affiliation. The Braves affiliation ended in Sumter as the Sumter Braves. The team was renamed Flyers after the Braves affiliation ended. It then continued as usual which is already on the team's page that the Shorebirds were previously the Albany Polecats and the Sumter Flyers.
