Old discussions

I couldn't tell you where I read it, but I remember reading that the chain originated from a single California location, at the time called Casa del Taco, a much more grammatically reasonable moniker, which was shortened not long thereafter, which would explain the chain's odd name. --4.245.93.34 09:09, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Casa Del Taco is an unrelated restaurant. There is also currently a restaurant in business using the name Casa Del taco. 15:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Criticism

I removed the following from the article since it seemed to be original research (or at least had that appearance.

The restaurant is recieving some criticism of it not listing its ingredients to its costumers. They have no pamphlets in the stores, nor site the ingredients on their website, nor will give it out when you call the 1-800 number. This has made contributed to some people boycotting the store until they do list their ingredients to the public.

Nashville based

I couldn't believe it when I found out Del Taco is now based in NASHVILLE! Read here: http://www.deltaco.com/dtpressroom/

Ah.. the contact page still lists the world HQ as Lake Forest, CA. Mkilly 05:37, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Read here: Sagittarius Brands The official release. The Del Taco website has not been updated. Do a Google search for Sagittarius Brands for a lot more information. TeamGoon 10:13, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, but the release's first paragraph reads... "Sagittarius Brands, the parent company of Captain D’s Seafood, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Del Taco. Del Taco, headquartered in Lake Forest, CA, is the nation's second largest Mexican quick-service restaurant chain. Captain D's, headquartered in Nashville, TN, is the nation’s second largest seafood quick-service restaurant chain." There's nothing in the press release saying anything about Del Taco's headquarters moving, only that the company's being acquired. Most of the time, I understand, when acquisitions take place on this scale, there's a degree of autonomy remaining in subsidiaries. A press release issued since says nothing about the HQ moving, but again reiterates Lake Forest, CA: <http://www.deltaco.com/dtpressroom/index.cfm?newsID=46>. Kraft Foods, for example, is based in Illinois, but its 86% owner Altria Group is in NYC. Mkilly 19:47, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Indiana

Del Taco will apparently be opening 16 locations in the Indianapolis area (their first stores in Indiana) sometime in the near future. This is according to an article in the Indianapolis Star. (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007309260012) Brainscar 15:22, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

To whom it may concern, on March 3, 2008, a Del Taco location was opened for business in Mishawaka, Indiana. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.23.69.196 (talk) 07:19, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Illinois

The article states that the first Del Taco restaurant in Illinois was opened in 2006 - however, this information is incorrect. Prior to this, a Del Taco location could be found in Belleville, Illinois (the location has since closed, and been reopened as a Subway). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.207.188.97 (talk) 04:00, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
