This article (probably) needs to be updated to reflect policies in place with the release of Debian 7.0 Wheezy.

Criticisms of "Criticism"[edit]

The Criticism section (which seems to be the major reason this page exists, as it has little other content), definitely seems to violate NPOV. It is written from the point of view of those making these criticisms, "The support of the non-Linux kernels prevent packages to be adapted to infrastructural changes and delay the integration of such improvements to Debian GNU/Linux." "A notorious example is systemd," "Systemd is modular and can very well be ported to kernels other than Linux, but parts of systemd do build upon structures present in the Linux kernel only, not only for performance reasons, but also because it is an apt way to get things done." This is not only not NPOV ("apt way to get things done"), but incorrect as systemd is not only not being ported to other kernels, but was made specifically to be Linux only.

"Weston was published under the terms of the MIT License, but because of performance reasons, Weston is (so far) Linux-only. " It is amusing that things are only ever Linux only for performance reasons. I've removed the criticism section entirely. Debian as a project has no directive whatsoever to make systemd the default. Consequently, speculating about when it will be the default is misleading and dishonest. When tech-ctte makes a decision we'll be able to speak about systemd and factors impacting its adoption, but until then, it is absolutely inappropriate to include this in a factual article about Debian GNU/kFreeBSD.
