Coordinates[edit]

Why are there coordinates on this article which relates to a family? Peter I. Vardy (talk) 19:59, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

I have reverted the article to the state it was in as of 9 December 2010 due concerns that material added by Selkcerf0142 (talk · contribs) was copyrighted. More details can be found here. Nev1 (talk) 14:15, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect hyperlink[edit]

There is an incorrect link in this article. The second sentence in the article says " The first records are about Hugh de Lacy (1020–1049). " Hugh de Lacy is a hyperlink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_de_Lacy) that goes to the article on Hugh de Lacy who died 25 July 1186, Durrow, Leinster, - NOT the Hugh de Lacy born 1020-died 1049. As far as I can see there isn't an article on Hugh de Lacy born 1020-died 1049, so either this link needs to be removed or a new article on Hugh de Lacy born 1020-died 1049 needs to be written and the link changed to the new article. Ninanta (talk) 23:41, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nice one. I've just unlinked it. Go ahead and take a crack at making an article on the missing man, if you think there are enough sources covering him. And don't worry about making changes or corrections yourself.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 04:52, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who was the eldest son of Walter de Lacy: Roger (as said in the entry on Gilbert de Lacy) or Ilbert (as said in the entry on de Lacy)? Richard C — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.29.250.246 (talk) 09:55, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Complete re-write[edit]

Due to the issues above and many other flaws, I have undertaken a complete re-write of the article eliminating duplicate entries, reducing the number of sections and deprecating the dubious claims of the Austrian/Russian family of the same name. Laurel Lodged (talk) 10:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Anomaly[edit]

If Ilbert was born 1045, how could his grandson Henry (Ilbert's son's second son) be born 1070? Brownturkey (talk) 09:32, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good pont. It looks like his supposed year of death (1123) is more likely to be his year of birth. Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A Google search led me to this blog - no citations but on face value more plausible http://elizabethashworth.com/the-de-lacy-family/henry-de-lacy-the-second-son-of-robert-and-brother-of-ilbert-2/ Brownturkey (talk) 19:27, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This genealogy site has a profile for Henry with dates of c1097-1177 [1] with 1070-1129 for is father Robert [2]. I'm not sure if I'd trust it as a source but that bit of the article seems to be un-sourced anyway. --Trappedinburnley (talk) 17:38, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
1177 also in this book: "The Legacy of the de Lacy, Lacey, Lacy Family, 1066-1994". Lacey, G. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=rKAKXWXIa9gC (1994). Publ: G. Lacey. It is self-published so not authoritative but I guess it'll have to do until we find a better citation.Brownturkey (talk) 18:55, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Good work. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:14, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried again to make some sense of this family tree, but I've found so many inconstancies with this a the related articles it is making my head spin. I would be interested in improving things if anybody has the energy for it.--Trappedinburnley (talk) 21:39, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
