Issues with 'Controversy' section[edit]

There are issues with the 'Controversy' section, especially the following:

"Morrison, in his first speech on the matter, said he was informed on a certain date, however the senior officials in his office had been made aware of the investigation several months earlier. Several high ranking ADF personnel were also said, "we need to put a lid on this". Reports assert that the ADF hindered the investigations of police and tried to hide evidence claiming "National Security", however once the staff in Morrison's offices realised the seriousness of police investigations, they made major efforts to "play catch up" and get ahead of the story, before it broke. Morrison was to later strip a Lieutenant Colonel of his command, for failing to remain aware of issues that affected him, his unit and the army"

which cites no references. What speech did Morrison give? When? Where? And what is the reference for other ADF personal saying "we need to put a lid on this", which is misleadingly put as a direct quotation? Plus this sentence is not even grammatical ("Several high ranking ADF personnel were also said, "we need to put a lid on this"".). Someone with knowledge the matter please correct this content and provide references, or delete it if it is just gossip. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.158.180 (talk) 09:57, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of the citations from the "Controversy" section are from a single source, opinion piece writer Miranda Devine.

I believe this is discouraged in the following: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources especially given the accusations against Morrison are recent and have not yet been tested, legally or otherwise.

I will remove the relevant sections.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.225.56.23 (talk) 08:03, 23 February 2016(UTC)

I have removed another paragraph from the article that appeared to be WP:OR, and also seemed trivial from my perspective as someone who is uninvolved. Editors of this article must understand the policy about living persons at WP:BLP. Jack N. Stock (talk) 19:58, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Statement[edit]

I think David Morrison is a Top Bloke, and a Top Military Man, and a Great Leader, so why does the Caption under the main Photo say 'Morrison orating at Canberra in July 2012' Orating ?? , who write that ? I think he may have been 'Speaking' ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.191.165 (talk) 08:11, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That’s your opinion of a man, not the fact. Please keep your opinions at the 159.196.169.28 (talk) 11:55, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
