Colloquial Name[edit]

Just checking the "Eastern Velvet Ant" is correct. "Occidentalis" literally means "Western". Tjt263 (talk) 15:45, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this species does not occur west of the Continental Divide, so it certain is an eastern species. Check the Entomological Society of America's list of official common names when in doubt. Dyanega (talk) 07:38, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Defense vs Description and Biology[edit]

Resolved
 – Additional information has been added that better defines topic areas.

How confident are we with keeping Description and Biology a seperate topic from "Defense." Isn't that an implication that "Defense" is seperate from their biology - also, the Bio description mentions a specific defense and "Defense" doesn't mention that information. If they want to be kept seperate shouldn't they include more respective information? Dasymutilla (talk) 15:14, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
