Illness and death[edit]

Illness and death are erroneously reported. They infact pertain to Dara Singh the Actor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.42.67.76 (talk) 08:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Biased article[edit]

The article reads like a politically motivated piece, with many of the statements not being supported by the citations.

Lines on alledged involvement of Dara Singh in activities do not support the WP:NPOV policy.

The article needs to be rewritten with actual facts and than opinions from other websites.

Statements like "According to Government council ..." etc are opinions and not facts - and in any case should not be on Wikipedia.

The way it is written promotes hate.

In an interview given to India Today, Dara Singh denied any involvement with RSS / BJP or Bajrang Dal. This page does need an independent review. https://www.indiatoday.in/magazine/interview/story/20000522-i-am-prepared-to-be-martyr-for-cause-of-hindus-says-dara-singh-779199-2000-05-22 — Preceding unsigned comment added by The King of kings100 (talkcontribs) 13:31, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • You need to list out the statements "not being supported by the citations".
  • How does "Lines on alledged involvement of Dara Singh in activities" does not support the WP:NPOV policy? It is properly sourced.
  • If you find any opinion pieces, list them here.
  • How does statements like "According to Government council" is a opinion.
  • Dara Singh's interview of him denying any involvement in the mureder fails WP:INDEPENDENTWP:NOR, he was convicted for the same. - SUNEYE1 13:39, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please see below:

1. The article (ref #8 - https://www.sabrang.com/cc/comold/oct99/report.htm ) has been used to establish that Dara Singh was an RSS member in this wikipedia article. However, these are extracts from the submission of the legal council to judiciary.. Hence, using this reference to make this statement is inaccurate WP: AD. The submission by legal council is only one side of the story and cannot be used as evidence. The same submission also states that “ there was no documentary evidence to prove that he is a member or office bearer of the organisation” – hence what has been stated in the Wikipedia article is not supported by the referenced article WP:VWP:Inaccurate.

2. It is a similar story with the cited book – “ The politics behind Anti Christian Violence” – while citing the book fails WP:INDEPENDENT, the book does confirm that there was no evidence of Dara Singh being a BJP member – and the book even quotes the state Bajrang Dal co-ordinator who confirms that Dara Singh was not a Bjarang Dal member (page 283). Hence these statements are not adequately supported by cited evidence WP:INACCURATE.

3. Similarly, statement “Singh was also alleged to have worked for the Bhartitya Janata party during the 1991 elections in Patna.” Is WP:NOT NEWS and should not be included on an encyclopedia. If this is mentioned , then it should also state that there was no evidence to support this statement as stated by the legal counsel submission to ensure a balanced view WP:NPOV.

4. WP:NPOV: The cited articles also state that the judiciary acquitted BJP, RSS , Bajrang Dal etc from the crime. As stated in the book “The politics behing Anti-Christina violence”, Dara Singh himself denies to have anything to do with these organisations. Hence this article has not been written with a neutral point of view WP: NPOV.

5. Wikipedia states that “He was charged in several cases where he hijacked and looted trucks which carried cows to slaughter”. But the article cited as reference “"Staines case: Dara Singh, 12 others found guilty". www.rediff.com. Retrieved 6 April 2020.” Does not mention this WP:V WP:Verifiability.

6. It is interesting that the article does not mention that the judiciary acquitted RSS , BJP, Bajrang Dal etc from this crime. The article mentions only part of the story. The title of the article should not include 'Bajrang Dal' based on cited references. Wikipedia should not be used to propagate such false narratives WP:DUE.

It is clear that this article has been written to promote a particular point of view and promotes hatred. This article needs to be reviewed by someone without a vested interest in this topic. The King of kings100 (talk) 07:49, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The "RSS member" is not backed by Sabrang but by a source from Human Rights Watch. I also pointed this out in your talk page.
  • Did you read WP:INDEPENDENT?, is that source closely affliated with Dara Singh?
  • That statement about his elections comes under his biography and the source is not a routine coverage.
  • It does not matter if Dara Singh claims he did not do it, he was convicted for the crime. Wikipedia reports what reliable sources say, see the same WP:INDEPENDENT you pointed above.
  • The next source backs the part where he loots trucks and I've removed the unsourced part.
Stop mentioning random policies here without even reading them properly. Take some time to understand them- SUNEYE 1 10:44, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I do not quite understand the validity of your statement here : " It does not matter if Dara Singh claims he did not do it, he was convicted for the crime". We were discussing validity of the references which themselves seem to be biased. If it not for wikipedia editors to draw conclusions from the fact that he was convicted The King of kings100 (talk) 14:22, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Biographies of Living persons[edit]

Quoting wikipedia policy : "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be supported by an inline citation to a reliable, published source. Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion."

The citations used in this article to claim that Singh is a Bajrang Dal member is not adequate - especially when official submission in court by legal concel explicitly states that 'there is no evidence' of Singh being a member of RSS or BJP or Bajrang Dal. The makes are citations questionable. All references to Singh's association with organisations should be removed if the evidence does not pass the test as elaborated on 'Biographies of Living persons' The King of kings100 (talk) 14:33, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shaikh Rehman[edit]

The lead indicates that Rehman's arms were cut off - but in the fourth para under Criminal activities his hands were severed. Which is it? Prisoner of Zenda (talk) 07:23, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
