Llansantffraed[edit]

@Bashereyre: Do you know which Llansantffraed we should link to? I'm chasing up links to V where control-V may have been intended, but can't divine what was in the editors' paste buffers at the time! Thanks, Certes (talk) 12:38, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Legend as per John Aubrey[edit]

The man recalled by John Aubrey is not the same man as the one appointed Dean of St Asaph later in the 17th century, but the Daniel Price who was Dean of Hereford in 1626-31, which would have been in the living memory of Aubrey and those of the latter's parental generation. A check of a modern edition of Brief Lives should help (I go by memory of reading in 1980s). Dean Price of Hereford, who was chaplain to Prince Henry (James I's son) earlier in his career, was a native of Shrewsbury who did have as brother Sampson Price. Dean Price of St Asaph would be improbably old at his death in 1716 were he the same man written of in 1656.Cloptonson (talk) 09:54, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
