Article creation[edit]

I've created this article stub to eliminate the widespread confusion between Daniel O'Keefe (father) and Dan O'Keefe (son). Daniel created the Festivus holiday, and Dan (son) wrote about it on Seinfeld in 1997 and in 2005 published the official book about it. The New York Times reversed the father's and son's names and this caused confusion for Wikipedia in general. This article is an attempt to alleviate that. It's just a stub now, but can certainly be expanded and added to. Softlavender (talk) 08:24, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Potential COI/NPOV/SPA issues[edit]

User:DanOKeefe, who purports to be the subject of this BLP, has contributed >9% of the total edits made to the article. KalHolmann (talk) 17:34, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

9% is not a "major contributor", so please remove the COI tag. If Wikipedia editor DanOKeefe (who you probably should have pinged and not just linked to) wishes to make any more edits to the page perhaps he can, as many other Wikipedia editors who have Wikipedia pages, suggest those edits on the talk page and let page watchers have a look at them before adding them. Thanks for your vigilance on keeping Wikipedia respectful of the truth, which I think is editor DanOKeefe's intent as well. Randy Kryn (talk) 19:13, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Randy Kryn, you are correct: 9% is not a major contributor. I have changed {COI} tag to {POV}. KalHolmann (talk) 19:23, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked his edits here and they seem to be accurate and helpful. POV is even a bit strong, and maybe he will address your concern next time he logs in. Randy Kryn (talk) 19:27, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Randy. Kal, maybe you could also remove the COI tags regarding my contributions to the Daniel O'Keefe page (my father) and the Festivus page, in which you cited as evidence my making 11% of the edits, and 25 edits, respectively. Since 2016-11-18 User:DanOKeefe has made 40 edits to 4 articles—all four of which pertain to himself. That strongly suggests a single-purpose account. Let's wait to see how other editors feel about this. KalHolmann (talk) 19:51, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • He made three edits: [1], [2], and [3]. All three were helpful and encyclopedic; none of them were controversial or promotional. Softlavender (talk) 11:55, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
