Section on Skull Damaru[edit]

In February 2016, user Tusharkulkarni95 deleted a whole section (nearly -1900) on skull damaru and added a poorly written section about damaru's needing no metronome and mentioning that skulls crack during Hindu cremation and therefore cannot be used in the construction of damaru. Admittedly, the section on skull damaru had no citation and needs some work, but I contend that it deserves to remain in the article. Whether or not Hindu skulls crack during cremation is irrelevant to the fact that skulls are DEFINITELY used in the construction of damarus in the Vajrayana (Tibetan Buddhist) tradition, and possibly in others. This information is easily verifiable by simply googling "skull damaru."

For this reason, I reinstated the entire section on Skull Damarus under the heading of Tibetan Buddhism. I also deleted the poorly-written section about damarus not needing metronomes and references to Hindu cremation practices. Granted, this is my first WP edit so am not very good at this WP editing gig. My edits may need to be cleaned up, but I felt strongly enough about reversing Tusharkulkarni95 edits that I made an account and typed out this argument in the spirit of consensus.

Any further attempts to delete sections regarding skull damarus, or to argue over their pertinence to this article should be discussed here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Technovajra (talkcontribs) 05:31, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am grateful for this reinstatement and your care with this article. I am in support of what you have done and in support of further conversation before any deletions. Indeed, if "major" edits are done, I'd prefer discussion first. Small edits are always welcome. Again, thanks. AD64 (talk) 17:55, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
