Inaccuracies[edit]

Lol. This article epitomises everyhting that is wrong with wikipedia.

I agree completely :) I'm sure the Jew bit is vandalism, but then again...does anyone know?

Vandalism[edit]

Good to see someone sorted a minute ago. I was just in the process of doing so myself ;) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.80.32.8 (talk) 11:48, 1 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I have sorted the article after vandalism.I think it is disgraceful that the small minded minority can ruin this information for everyone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The lake district (talkcontribs) 17:27, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The 'everyone' desperate for reliable information on Dale Winton, fock they must have been worried for a minute there. Good Work!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.12.229.69 (talk) 23:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Winton's fake wedding[edit]

Why is there nothing said about the mockumentary about him and Nell McAndrew getting married? It was a pretty big thing, although few people believed it even though they tried to convince people that it was real for a short time. It should get a mention at least! yes it should!!!

The Times Online had a good article about Dale Winton which should cover it. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/tv_and_radio/article4767255.ece
That link appears to be dead and so is the one referenced in the main article here, now. 2.31.166.248 (talk) 22:42, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Changes needed[edit]

The link to Supermarket Sweep is wrong. Robin Guest (talk) 13:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a major tidy up[edit]

this article is a complete mess, and there's a hell of a lot of unnecessary fluff. We don't need every single tv and radio show he's ever appeared on detailed in the career section. Surely just a focus on the significant ones (supermarket sweep etc)? Coolug (talk) 10:58, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth[edit]

According to this article Dale was born in Mansfield but apart from this article I cant find any other information to support this, there is also Nottingham and Middlesex as a place of birth. C. 22468 (talk) 20:52, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image[edit]

The guy's barely been dead a few hours, and we claim fair use for this publicity shot? As such a prominent individual, there are bound to be free images available, has anyone actually checked? The Rambling Man (talk) 23:05, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Very heavy smoker[edit]

Should the article mention he was a very heavy smoker? (86.144.84.44 (talk) 21:51, 27 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

It could do, if there were multiple reliable sources that support such a claim I see that the Daily Mirror said here that: "Dale was also a chain smoker, which caused him such severe breathing difficulties that John had to help him install a home ventilation device. ... he could hardly breathe because he smoked four packets of cigarettes a day" But that's a tabloid and so isn't WP:RS. Anti Obama & supported Donald Trump?[edit]

"As one who has spent his entire professional life being ridiculed for my “fluorescent tanned” complexion, I felt compassion for the man before he even uttered a single word. However, by the time he was three minutes into his speech, I’d put the foot rest down on my recliner and was sitting bolt upright hanging onto his every word. The distraction of his strange lacquered bouffant seemed…well, less of an issue!

From a TV technical point of view, I idolise his lighting man. He must travel everywhere with him. I’ve never ever seen him lit badly…..before, now or ever in HD. My personal bete noire has always been chronic TV studio lighting! I marvel at the way American networks beautifully light their studios and artists."2A00:23C5:5674:DD00:A4C9:C04E:DD43:2D31 (talk) 22:40, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"I reserve judgement on the answer to my question." Conservativewoman.co.uk is hardly The Economist, is it, luvvie? We all need a bit of pocket money when the shelves are looking a bit bare? Martinevans123 (talk) 22:58, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

InfoBox metadata needs fixing (the extra curly braces after the mother field probably need removing).

Wrong career dates.[edit]

He didn't move to London in the year stated. He was at Radio Trent between 1977 and the early 80s. Also, his time at Beacon Radio was 88-91. 146.199.189.195 (talk) 23:46, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
