Merge proposal[edit]

Already one "vote" on the List of things named Daedalus - for a merger so I thought I'd tag it for attention. Makes sense to me. Madmedea 13:09, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was the one who made the "List of.." article in frustration with the WP:IPC cycle in the main article. It's funny, I deleted the "in pop culture" section from the Daedalus article, and within 3 months, red anons had re-populated it again, one entry at a time. It's like a cancer. So thats when I created the "List of..." article.
Some things to consider: Merging the list into the dab page is ok, but many things will have to be dropped, since dab pages are for navigation purposes, only those things with have an article, or reasonably could have an article. Also, without a list, it will re-open the main article up again to nonsense trivia. I guess the question is, what is wrong with a list of article. -- Stbalbach 14:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've not got a strong feeling on this one, and looking at the list and disambig criteria I have to say I'm no clearer. The best (but most laborious) option is to keep a good eye on the disambig article by watching it and to remove inappropriate links as they are posted. I'd prefer this to having a List article which is essentially performing a disambig function. Madmedea 14:14, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having just added an entry to the dab page, I vote it be kept for 'navigation purposes' and the List sweep up other things named Daedalus. CS46 19:41, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the entries are under the list article. This one seems redundant to me. People want the list and they want it in the list article. I was going to redirect this one to the list but reading this I can see the preference is to have two, unless someone changes their mind. The other is clearly a set index. It can be anything, article or not. This one has to have articles. The other one also shows article uncertainty. Based on what is said here I will make them certain. We can always change our minds in this direction, but once they are merges it would be harder to put the two lists back without a total reversion.Dave (talk) 02:21, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Socrates[edit]

In Euthyphro Socrates says that Daedalus was his ancestor. Is this the same or different? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slimy asparagus (talkcontribs) 22:23, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2015 merge proposal[edit]

List of things named Daedalus really ought to be a disambiguation page -- it's a list of things with the same name, but different types. It's not an set index article -- there's no specialized information that can be shared across the items. List of things named Daedalus isn't informative, but is simply a navigational page. Having a list page just to prevent anon editors from messing up another page isn't a valid reason to have a list article. —hike395 (talk) 02:58, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
