Oddly enough, I cannot find any mention of Cuthwine in the lists of bishops at the end of the Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Anglo-Saxon England. Neither does he have an entry on the PASE website. – Swa cwæð Ælfgar (talk) 13:49, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He probably got "disappeared" between the second edition of the Handbook of British Chronology and the third. I was going to get any of those deleted, but the first one I tried to do got "kept" because he WAS mentioned in the second edition even though later editions didn't include him. After that, I gave up. Ealdgyth - Talk 13:55, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I found another reference in this article by D. P. Kirby (page 2, second paragraph), which mentions the chronicle of Florence of Worcester as a primary source. But it's quite an old article (1965–6), and the edition of Florence's he refers to is even older (it's Thorpe's, which does mention a Cuthwinus as first bishop of Leicester). It would be good to have a look at more recent sources. Too bad that the relevant volume in the Anglo-Saxon Charters isn't published yet. – Swa cwæð Ælfgar (talk) 15:11, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Many of these early office-holders do not seem to me to merit a dedicated page, when nothing is known about them, except their dates of tenure. For anyone interested, these can simply be checked on the list displayed in the Bishop of Lincoln page. Valetude (talk) 17:26, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
