What about cumberland chipolatas?[edit]

Don't they deserve a mention? Traveller palm (talk) 15:56, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What about a section for In Fiction?[edit]

Cumberlands are shown cooking at a British barbecue in the show Midsomer Murders titled "Midsomer Life" Season 11, Episode 4 at 1:32 (toward the end of the show after the murder is solved). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.51.126.185 (talk) 17:22, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What's the rest of it made of?[edit]

"Spices" surely cannot account for 15% of the mass of a sausage. What are the other non-meat ingredients commonly used? (Presumably, since the article claims that up to 55% non-meat was used in the past, this must include some sort of cheaper filler.) 121a0012 (talk) 04:50, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Almost every variety of British sausage contains a cereal binder. If this wasn't present then the sausage would disintegrate. There's also likely to be some added pork fat so that the sausage cooks evenly and remains moist. --Ef80 (talk) 18:27, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems to suggest that the Cumberland sausage has links to the place - Cumberland. But it is now simply a recipe for a type of sausage that is not divided into links as might be found for others. Unclestevie02 (talk) 20:50, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
