Merge[edit]

I have been WP:Bold and merged Cumberland, Ontario (city), Cumberland Township, Ontario and the DAB page that was located here at Cumberland, Ontario. The subject of the first two articles was the exact same place -- a township that became a city in 1999, and was ultimately amalgamated into the City of Ottawa. There is absolutely no reason to have two articles.

The DAB page simply disambiguated the first two articles that were merged here, along with Cumberland, Ottawa, Ontario (community) (which can be DABbed through a note at the top of the article -- we do not need a separate DAB page for that). Finally, the DAB page contained a redlink to Cumberland, Simcoe County, Ontario - however, as per WP:CANSTYLE, that article (if it is ever created) belongs at Cumberland, Severn. Thus, either a DAB page would be unnecessary (beyond Cumberland (disambiguation)) or one could be created at [[Cumberland, Ontario (disambiguation) if deemed necessary. But there definately is a primary use of Cumberland, Ontario, so the DAB page does not belong at this location. Skeezix1000 (talk) 21:39, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
