Criteria[edit]

Not sure which criteria are applied for this list - but I can not think of the reason why Mak Dizdar found himself on this list. He is not of Croatian orgin and did not live in Croatia (except for the NDH period). I suggest the name is removed from the list. Other opinions are welcome.

In the list there are a lot of names of people who were not croatian and didn't wrote in croatian, what is the reason of their presence here? Almost oll the italian writer (and artist, scientist, etc..) born in Dalmatia are called Croatians in Wikipedia. Why?

Literature?[edit]

Please someone write something about Croatian literature or rename this to "List of Croatian writers". List of Croatian authors links to this article. Two articles are certainly justified. Coldipa (talk) 10:54, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely, this page is embarrassing in its current state. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 15:02, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, given the title it is embarrassing - but it wouldn't be as List of Croatian authors. It's just that it is not clear what is this article supposed to be - for one thing, is it a list or not. GregorB (talk) 13:05, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It shouldn't be a list though it was stubbed as one, it's just that no one has bothered yet to engage in a significant expansion of the article given how many important biographies and articles on Croatian literacy monuments/periods are still missing. These synthetic-type articles are difficult to write and require a lot of preparation. Perhaps it could co-exist with some "list of" once it's rewritten, but let it be for now. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 18:52, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Navigation template[edit]

I've created {{Croatian literature}} for navigation among the articles on writer biographies, and on the individual articles (like Croatian Renaissance literature - non of which exists for now). Mediaeval monuments (Vinodol codex, Baška tablet, Glagolitic codices of liturgical and profane content..) should also be integrated. Comments? --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 16:03, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the layout, leaving content the same - see the template's talk page. GregorB (talk) 11:43, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An article now[edit]

Converted the list back to as the part of the Croatian literature. Er-vet-en (talk) 13:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Managed to write a few bits. Er-vet-en (talk) 21:27, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mandić[edit]

I thought Igor Mandić was a strictly non-fiction writer. If so, he does not belong in the list. GregorB (talk) 18:30, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he is, but he's an essayist, so he belongs in the list after all. GregorB (talk) 12:25, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
