Have to say, in 30 years of following league, I've never heard of this term --Paul 18:02, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll defer to your knowledge; I'm only a casual league fan. The BBC reference article mentioned league and I've seen the tactic used often enough in league, so I assumed both codes used the term. Google confirms it's a union-only term. I've removed the league refs. --Muchness 19:13, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it's a NH expression? --Paul 04:14, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could be, but I've checked some online forums that discuss NH RL and it doesn't show up at all (e.g., 2 mentions in rec.sport.rugby.league's 11 year history, and no RL-related uses in League Unlimited). I can't find anything definitive on RL news sites. --Muchness 10:16, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Late to this discussion but: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/hi/sa/rugby_union/features/newsid_4038000/4038755.stm states "Where does it come from? It's used all the time in rugby league." I think the BBC source should carry more weight than internet forums. LunarLander // talk // 23:18, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
World's slowest conversation :p. That link suggests the tactic is used, not the name, which appears to be a union term. Never heard of it before now.
