Birthdate[edit]

There seems to be some disagreement on the web as to Craig's birthdate.

Major edit in progress (no longer)[edit]

It appears that this article is undergoing a major edit by an anonymous contributor (User:64.12.116.198) who doesn't know how to use the preview feature. I think we should be willing to let him/her continue, and therefore, we should wait a bit before reverting items that look like grammatical errors and empty sections. Ke6jjj 00:20, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I edited those anyway, with the hope that the anon editor will find them helpful if he/she continues to add to the article. There were words missing from sentences, some serious formatting problems, etc. MCB 22:49, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, I don't know what's going on here, either. While I don't think there's a copyvio issue (see section below), the anon user has repeatedly removed the copyvio template (which should not be done until the issue is settled), and also, replaced cleanup edits (grammar, usage, spelling) with previous versions which are in very poor English. MCB 04:09, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to see that the copyright issue was resolved. Since things have seemed to calm down, I've gone through and copyedited the article to clean it up. Now it just needs more detail (dates on the television appearances, for example) and it will be well on its way to being a fine article. Ke6jjj 23:52, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright Violation[edit]

90% of this article was copied & pasted from the link on the page, tv.com. It also does NOT conform to Wikipedia standards and MOS. It needs to be deleted or overhauled to conform to higher standards. It appears to have been done by a child. WikiDon 22:46, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that I have placed this article on Wikipedia:Copyright problems. The user continues to edit it and add the same information and has been removing the copyvio notice. Leithp (talk) 07:26, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think this is a copyvio. The site that it is alleged to be copied from is a wiki (or other user-editable media) and it is apparent from the text that it was copied from Wikipedia (possibly multiple articles or deleted edits), not vice versa. MCB 08:10, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This seems to indicate that the website holds the copyright on that page, unless I'm misunderstanding it. Leithp (talk) 08:14, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It certainly doesn't seem to indicate that the page is released under a free licence. Leithp (talk) 13:48, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No, you're missing the point here. I am asserting that the content on the web site was copied from Wikipedia to the site, not vice-versa, in which case it's irrelevant what sort of copyright is claimed by the site. MCB 18:24, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, how do you know that the TV.com page is a copy of the Wikipedia page? I can't see anything on that page to establish when it was created. Leithp (talk) 20:31, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
What tipped me off is the last line, "Categories: Articles which lack sources | Comedians | 1971 births | MADTV | Comedy Central" which is obviously a Categories listing from a Wikipedia article. Then, I took a sampling of the small snippets (between "...") and searched on them in Wikipedia. Almost all are direct copies of articles (those that aren't seem to be picture captions). For example, the part about Venice comes from the Venice article, and the Susan Anton part comes from the Susan Anton article. Given that bio sections in TV.com are user-editable content, it looks like someone cut and pasted content from a number of semi-related WP articles to try to create a "bio". But the categories line makes it pretty obvious that the content came from Wikipedia. MCB 00:20, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have removed it from the copyvio page. Thanks for looking into this. Leithp (talk) 08:33, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
And thanks for your vigilance... as I noted in the section above, I really don't know what's going on with this article, but when the anon contributor is "done" I will do another cleanup, and see if it takes. :-) Cheers, MCB 19:26, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Large volume of edits from AOL[edit]

To the AOL user who is frequently editing this page, please post here and tell us a bit about what you'd like to add to this article. -- Curps 05:39, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Anton only lives there now. He should be recategorized into Category:People from Nebraska instead. Thanks, howcheng [ tcwe ] 18:52, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Redundancies[edit]

Article is too much a list of movies and TV shows, both in narrative form and in tables. Do not need both.--Parkwells (talk) 14:22, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Backward chronology[edit]

I'm not too familiar with the biography policies, but it looks to me like on most actor/actress articles the filmography wikitable goes from first projects to last, not the other way around. Would someone who has a deeper understanding of the policies please take a look at this? Thanks. —Airhogs777 (complaintsevidencealibi) @WikiShrek 09:01, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
