Citation issues[edit]

It won't be that much of a problem getting the citation issues resolved. I need to get page numbers for the 1949-1958 "airplay" chart statements from Joel Whitburn's "Top 40 Country Singles" book (which I own), and then that issue should be resolved. I will need to track down the specific issue of Billboard that has the first 1984-1987 "airplay" chart (to get specific page numbers), but fortunately, a library that has back issues of Billboard magazine is relatively close by and then that issue should be taken care of. Confusion and contradictions[edit]

As far as I can see, from 1990 until 2012, Billboard only had one country singles/songs chart, which was based on airplay alone. Our article on Hot Country Songs regards that period as part of the history of that chart and indicates that Country Airplay was created in 2012, however this article seems to regard the 1990-2012 period as part of the history of Country Airplay, which it says began in 1990. Both can't be right...... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 13:15, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
