Status of Article[edit]

Currently this article is very lacking in content (which isn't surprising considering how small and selective the school is), so I'm going to go ahead and put together a more extensive page for the school, including notable faculty lists, more cover over the history of the school, some better explanations of the majors, a reference section, a few more external links, what seperates Cornish apart from other art schools, and other doodads deserving of a college's article. I'll probably need some help discussing the Fine Art, Design, and Dance programs though, as I haven't spent a lot of time in those classes or figuring their systems out. As the original author of the article I'd really appreciate the help! --~

Hey, glad to see you're still around and watching the page! It'll probably be a few days before I start typing up a new article, but seeing that you're still around is kinda motivating, haha. I also want to try and get some work done on the Nellie Cornish article, but I don't know how soon that will be or if I'll even be able to find a good amount of information on her. What's your relationship with Cornish, or are you just trying to fill in the Seattle and/or University gaps? Teliis 08:09, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No particular relationship with Cornish, just a lifelong Seattle resident who's been working mainly on local topics since I started on Wikipedia three years ago. I'm part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Seattle. --Lukobe 18:47, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And you? Cornish student/faculty? --Lukobe 18:49, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a transfer student to Cornish for the coming fall semester. I was actually born and raised in Seattle and love the city and everything about it, and try to make a trip up there a few times a year (though the past few months I have been graced with an excuse to go up a dozen times or so.) I took a gander at the Seattle WikiProject and I just may hop on board eventually. I would love to help with informing the world about Seattle! Teliis 23:26, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I take it this rewrite never happened.

The list of faculty and alumni should distinguish faculty from alumni. - Jmabel | Talk 02:45, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of names[edit]

I hardly fixed the problem but I at least separated the problem from this article by moving it to List of Cornish College of the Arts people. At least now this article is not WP:UNDUE-ly promotional by emphasizing unsourced content. Blue Rasberry (talk) 01:39, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Association with David Mannes School[edit]

The ad at center left at File:The Town Crier, v.14, no.37, Sep. 13, 1919 - DPLA - e12d130fd462fb0359be76ae7444d509 (page 13).jpg, right at the time Cornish was first establishing a program of teacher education, describes the program as "affiliated with the David Mannes School, New York City". No mention of this in Nellie Cornish's autobiography (where Mannes's wife merits a brief mention, and neither he nor the school, which is still extant, are mentioned at all). Does anybody know anything about this? Nothing quickly found on line. - Jmabel | Talk 02:28, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
