Who wrote this article, Colonel Abrams? I looked for a couple of sources that could validate the claim that his current singles are wildly popular but not on the charts and couldn't find anything. Its a ridiculous claim anyway. If a song is released by a record company and "wildly popular" its gonna be on what the industry considers the measurement of its popularity. The article appears to have improved slightly from the comments posted above, however it now states that Colonel Abrams is his real name and then that he was born John Thomas Wiener ! This article needs a re-write, incorporating reliable sources, or this sort of nonsense will persist.

Real name? Conflicted info.[edit]

Was Colonel truthfully his real name, or just a stage name? As the two so-called articles profess it to be, whilst his discography tells a completely different story. His name variations on Discogs for credits taken from the actual releases themselves sometimes state "Donald Abrams" (or for short, just "Don Abrams") in the small print on them: http://www.discogs.com/artist/66261-Colonel-Abrams – so it seems rather unlikely that his real name was actually Colonel, despite what some journo's might have in their articles (or even –if one was done– what they may have jokingly been told during an interview with the man himself; artists do like to sometimes spin the truth for whatever reason, usually in jest!). Date of Death[edit]

All of the sources I've looked at published yesterday morning or later give 25 November as the death date. All the sources published before that give Thanksgiving, 24 November, as the death date. Now someone added the November 25 death date to this article on the morning of 27 November, so I strongly suspect citogenesis.--Laun chba ller 14:21, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed date of birth[edit]

As it stands, the article says his DoB was May 25, 1949. However, the following was posted at the TeaHouse:

"Hello my name is Wanda Abrams, Colonel Abrams (sister) The information on Wikipedia is incorrect. Birth date July 18, 1952 and date of death November 24, 2016. I update the site it but my information was removed. It is a little difficult moving around this site using the TALK. Someone needs to change the wrong information on the site if i cannot change it. What will be my next step to make this happen. Baybreezz (talk) 16:58, 28 November 2016 (UTC)"

"Thanks you, I did a typo changing the year to 1951. Not sure how to go about the since that because he is my brother and we are in the process of getting all final paperwork (death Cerf, etc) Just who ever place this birth date and death date in line is disrespect to his family. Not sure what you need from me or us. Can you remove it for now leaving the birth dated & death dated open? My family is trying our best to discard what the media is showing or saying and staying focus moving forward. If you should request a number, or email address from me I am fine with that. All of the sources give the date in the article, and give his age as 67 when he died, but there is suspicion they may all be copying from one another. I have commented out the birth date from the article for now.
