Disambiguation?[edit]

User:Mcoogan75 has suggested that we move this to a new name, as he feels people will confuse this with the modern website CollegeHumor. Comments? --Orange Mike | Talk 17:48, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It just seems like College Humor has clearly come to replace College Humor (magazine) as the dominant, assumed owner of the brand name. People who search Wikipedia for College Humor are almost certainly looking for the website and likely have no idea there was a magazine. On the other hand people looking for the magazine know that it was in print form. Mcoogan75 (talk) 05:56, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's an uncited assumption. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In what sense? CollegeHumor.com does nearly 7 million unique visitors each month and its audience disproportionally favors users of Wikipedia in terms of age, sex and education and has been so for nearly a decade.[1] The magazine on the other hand, hasn't been published for well over half a century and even then, it concluded its run as a softcore porn title trading on the former recognition of the name. Under a standard of common sense, it is more likely that any user would be looking for the website and rather than an elderly person researching their glory days. The front page of Google results for the terms back up this assertion overwhelmingly. Mcoogan75 (talk) 02:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really do appreciate the change though. I think it's a good compromise.Mcoogan75 (talk) 02:55, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
