Article is new enough, double the character requirement, and has no other disqualifying factors. The move will need to be resolved one way or another but I don't see it as a big deal. Sources appear appropriately reliable. Hooks are cited in-text - my strong preference is ALT2, which is hilarious. The nominator and supporters have not provided sufficient rationale to justify the removal of the year disambiguation, while the opposers have raised valid concerns about the ambiguity and variability of capitalisation. The alternative suggestion of using the middle name has also been challenged by a policy-based argument. By the standard proposed in the nomination, Colin MacKay (journalist, born 1944) may not need any parenthetical qualifier since his entry is primary over the one-sentence stub for Australian rules footballer Colin MacKay. Oppose. I agree with Necrothesp and SmokeyJoe that this is too small a small detail. By way of comment, I would personally be open to a move to Colin Hinshelwood MacKay on the grounds that the 1944-born journalist's full name would be a more complete name that is unambiguous, commonly used in English (even without being the most common term), and equally clear, per WP:NCDAB.
