ISBN[edit]

This is a messy situation because the Dictionary of Ohio Historic Places was published with the invalid ISBN 10 0-403-09982-6, and another book, Encyclopedia of Missouri, was published with the valid ISBN 10 0-403-09982-X, differing only in the last (checksum) digit. The ISBN 13 recently supplied, 978-0-403-09982-5, would be a correct, valid extrapolation of both ISBN 10s (both books were published before ISBN 13 became the standard, so neither book, as far as I can tell, was actually published with that number), and a Google search on that ISBN 13 produces results for both books. But if a user follows the search link in the article, all of the results are for the Missouri book (the one that had the correct ISBN 10 in the first place). Using the invalid ISBN 10 produces only one result at Worldcat, but at least it is the correct book.--ShelfSkewed Talk 03:50, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
