Why redirected[edit]

  • This has been made a redirect on the basis of WP:LOCAL.

Will someone please:

1. Point to that part of WP:LOCAL that applies here, and
2. Provide evidence that WP:LOCAL has ever been formally adopted as a guideline. Saga City 20:29, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I redirected this article because I honestly believe it is difficult to find enough notable things to say about Clipstone. The settlement has just four houses, and it was not a previously larger place with a significant history. I think it is better for material about it to be added to the article on Eggington, which can then cover the whole parish. In rural areas, historical information often relates to parishes; and local government is organised by parishes, so information such as population is available for these areas. I found that my reasoning is supported by WP:LOCAL which includes the suggestion: "If the article is a very small stub with no clear potential, be bold and merge it to the appropriate article on the community." So I referenced it as a shorthand in the edit history.
  • I do not think you are likely to get an answer here (on the talk page for a low profile article) to your question about the adoption of WP:LOCAL as a guideline. I assume it is a guideline because it says it is. You may be more successful if you ask on the WP:LOCAL talk page. JonH 17:55, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
