The cited website [2] does indeed claim that this is the "only camera obscura open to the public in England and provides visitors with a 360 degrees panoramic view of the Avon Gorge". However, the Royal Observatory, Greenwich (part of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich) claims to have "London's only public camera obscura".[3] One in Brighton claims to be "one of only two operational camera obscuras in South East England".[4]-- ALoan (Talk) 10:29, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Location[edit]

The grid reference code given will point google maps to a location too far north. I found the observatory here: http://maps.google.com/maps?t=k&ll=51.456611,-2.626521 Maybe someone could fix this? --BjKa 08:33, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the grid ref to a point closer to the observatory, but can't seem to get the exact position via the grid reference method... Maybe someone else knows of another way? Major Bloodnok 12:32, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lenght of tunnel[edit]

An unregistered user (62.31.160.67) edited this article added a comment suggesting the tunnel to the cave is not the length stated in the article suggesting it is more like 200ft than 2000ft. The reference cited Clifton's Famous and Infamous No 1 definitely gives it as 2000ft in the section on William West and I can't find any references that give a different figure. From personal experience I would say it's considerably more than 200 ft but didn't measure it (my kids counted 244 steps - but I don't think that's a reliable source for an encyclopedia).
