Edit of 22 May 2008[edit]

One photo, which seemed to me to be of little interest or use, was removed.

Other than that, this was purely copy editing. No substantial blanking was done, though some wordy text was tightened up without altering its meaning. Erroneous link ("Hammerschmidth") was fixed. Incorrect capitalization was fixed. History section heading was added (restored?) above the historical sub-sections. Repertoire section which had been in the middle of the historical material was separated out. Mention of clarinet quartet was moved to a more appropriate, earlier part of the article and mention of clarinet trio was added. Some wikilinks were added.

Entire mention of Grainger and other things was completely missing. Badagnani (talk) 05:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External links and "Sources"[edit]

Can someone explain please what's the purpose of these? The links are a list of choirs. They are clearly not what the external links section is for. As for the "Sources", are they reference sources for the article? I doubt it. They seem to be just a random list of articles on the subject, but I may be wrong. Perhaps they are further reading? For now I just commented them out, feel free to reinstate, in a proper way. --Muhandes (talk) 20:24, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree about external links: deleted. The Sources section appears to contain some useful stuff, including entries actually used as a source in writing the article. Let's go through them individually rather than hiding the whole section. Binksternet (talk) 17:34, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have access to none of them, but if you do, go ahead. --Muhandes (talk) 21:48, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just pinged User:Belvdme who originally added the list of sources. Binksternet (talk) 22:37, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestion to the controversy: Under Orchestras there is a link to "List of Orchestras" that takes you to another page that lists many orchestras in many countries. The Choirs have a similar link to show lists of vocal choirs. I think this list is a good thing! You deleted the list under the main Clarinet Choir article, so how can a new page (or whatever is needed) be created to offer a list of Clarinet Choirs with a brief description of each? Thanks for making this article more complete and in touch with the current world (not just historical facts).kkkkkmusicKkkkkmusic (talk) 18:09, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Are said choirs notable? ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 03:09, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To Melodia - Yes, if you google "clarinet choir" most of the choirs that come up on the first several pages of Google were on the list. Many have links to other interesting sites and sampling of clarinet choir music. We have even been contacted by a major university asking advice on how to obtain clarinet choir music.KkkkkmusicKkkkkmusic (talk) 18:02, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Query[edit]

Just tidying the contradiction category and came across this note hidden in the article. It's not a contradiction, but it is a reasonable query, so I thought I'd move it to the talk page. The article says The repertoire of music originally composed for clarinet choir was almost nonexistent before the mid twentieth century, but since then transcriptions have been made of many earlier works originally scored for different instrumental groups. - Transcriptions and arrangements are not "music originally composed for". Is there any repertory originally composed for clarinet choir and, if so, when did composers start writing for this medium? WormTT(talk) 14:25, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Photo[edit]

The photo caption is really messed up, and I don't know what it's supposed to say. Any ideas? --DpMusicman (talk) 13:52, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
