Good article!

I think the roof is held up by 8 polished marble columns, not the font, but I will have to go and take a look. There is some lovely modern stained glass which is worth a mention - will see if i can find a photo. Also a vicar of note, but not so notable that he has a wikipedia page, Rev John Richard Vernon.

The destruction of the old church did not happen in isolation. The remodelling of the entire park required the re-routing of the road, the clearance of shabby cottages and the rebuilding of the church in a style more in keeping with the grandeur of the Acland-Hood property. There is an interesting story with the temporary timber chapel - it is still in use in Stlolford.
