This page has been moved to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (disambiguation) .

The name Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints generated too many links, the vast majority of them intending to point to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Let's please leave this this as an appropriate redirect to minimize confusion and get people where they intend to go. THank! --Home Computer 18:52, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please continue discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:The_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints so others may join in. Thanks! --Home Computer 19:01, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changing redirect[edit]

I am changing this redirect to Church of Christ (Latter Day Saints) the Smith church. Tom Haws 18:32, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding more organization to the list[edit]

I'm wondering if there is some way to organize this list so it is easier to find what one is looking for. Because of the similarity of most of the names, it is hard (IMHO) to visually pick out which org is which. I tried a reorg based on (a) the original, (b) larger denominations (c) "small offshoots", and (d) defunct, but it was reverted since the "small offshoots" don't consider themselves as such. I agree this wasn't the best wording --- is there a way to still divide the list up with large and small denominations? Any thoughts? Ferris37 (talk) 20:03, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabetical is the usual way; it has the added benefit of being quite NPOV. Good Ol’factory (talk) 20:57, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic[edit]

Surely the main LDS church is the primary topic for this title. This article should be moved to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (disambiguation), and this turned into a redirect to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. john k (talk) 02:43, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This has been gone over many times at other times/locations on Wikipedia (WP); the short (but very incomplete) answer is that WP cannot take sides over which faction of the Latter Day Saint movement is the rightful continuation/successor of the church organized by Joseph Smith, Jr. in 1830. Please see wp:Manual of Style (Latter Day Saints) and wp:Naming conventions (Latter Day Saints) for some additional information. The talk page at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement is probably the best location for further questions/concerns along these lines. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 17:36, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Merge Latter Day Saints involvement in politics into this article.[edit]

Having read the source page, it seems clear to me that this should be a subsection of this main article on the LDS Church. I cannot fathom why it was created as a separate article away from this one, but this seems the obvious place to have an article about things the LDS do! Your thoughts on this are welcomed. • Support as per the above. There doesn't seem to be enough to warrant an seperate article. Dom from Paris (talk) 17:24, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
