Expansion[edit]

I have created this initial stub out of info on their site. It would be great if someone with more info about this company could expand the article. —lensovettalk – 04:10, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scamming[edit]

I took this out of the main article since it is essentially unsourced and is not really appropriate for the article. —lensovettalk – 03:34, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chonopost, like Western Union, is one of the biggest companies cited by internet scammers in an attempt to give their emails credence.

For instance, I just received an email from someone posting a "For Sale" computer on Craigs List that wants me to use Chronopost as the means of delivery and payment. If you live in America and are buying items online, particularly from overseas, be very wary of scammers using Chronopost and Western Union.

Good Luck

The Chronopost Scam - 'Beck Carl' scam affecting Craigs List and other on line sites is modeled after the very successful TNT Scam. Bait is usually an electronic item, such as a laptop, or LCD TV at an attractive price. The mark or 'mugu' is then led to a spoof or fake Chronopost site, where payment by Western Union or other wire service is required. As several excellent scam busting websites state, ANY ONLINE TRANSACTION REQUIRING PAYMENT BY WESTERN UNION OR OTHER WIRE SERVICE IS ASSUREDLY A SCAM. Avoiding use of wire transfer services would greatly diminsh the success of this and other Nigerian scams - wire transfers now trail only oil as a source of cash into Nigeria.

This is the scammers stock e mail sent pursuant to Craigs List Ads, one for a TV on New Jersey Craigs List, the other for a computer :

After you will receive the product and you will be completely satisfied with it, you will instruct Chronopost to release the payment information to me, so I can collect my money. C. This guy is a scam artist. Lots of people have already been fooled by him. This is the email he sends out. He sometimes uses different names but he isn't smart enough to change anything else.

Not the best service[edit]

Chronopost's website tell you how helpful they are, how they listen, etc but don't have a means of contacting them on said site. Expect a long wait on the line if you telephone them. If they lose a parcel, then the tracking number is never enough and they ask for many unnecessary details, making you wonder what the tracking number is for? Their drivers do not seem to use GPS and have trouble finding anywhere in a rural location. (193.250.53.148 (talk) 10:54, 19 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Agreed. They suck. They have repeatedly lost our packages, and there is no way to e-mail them, so your choice is an expensive international phone call, which judging from the above comment doesn't sound like it would be fruitful. 74.103.120.202 (talk) 12:15, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are the worst, here in france they can be relied on NOT to deliver as and when. They lie, for example whilst I was in the garden, my wife in the kitchen, and we were awaiting the bus with my grandaughter on, their driver said we had a special gate that needed a code and we were not there. Frankly they need shutting down. I have a sign made up some 3 years ago painted that states that Chronopost you lie and do not visit. The assistant social for our tenant when she asked why post was not delivered just cracked up. The name should be "Onopost". Best description terrible, just look on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/chronopost/photos/a.1399629816966338.1073741830.1386945634901423/1682247325371251/?type=3&comment_id=1682465128682804&reply_comment_id=1682466412016009 I totally agree with the notes above. Chronopost even told my wife they never picked up a package although we have the tracking number. Package lost, no communication. Insurance payout still to be orginized, but no real hope on my side. DO NOTEVER USE THEM!!!! THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.

Scamming still going on[edit]

I think this DOES belong in the article. The same (Exactly the same text) is now going on in full in Flanders. On 'Kapaza.Be' (Flanders top-site for selling & buying) about 1 out of every 10 Mac-computers for sale are this kind of scam (I already received about a dozen times the above-mentioned 'Chronopost-Mail' in my letterbox. 81.244.142.97 (talk) 21:32, 24 November 2009 (UTC).[reply]

My bank just caught Chronopost of France making an unauthorized charge to my business bank account[edit]

SCAM! Fortunately my bank did not pay because it looked suspicious. Since no money was lost, the bank does not go after them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.200.239.56 (talk) 16:01, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
