I added this article to the category LGTB rights opposition. The CHP is opposed to granting equal/special rights to LGTB people.

Party policy can be found at:

In particular I would like to draw your attention to: 6.4.2 and 6.4.3

2. THE FAMILY We affirm that the family is a God-ordained institution and the fundamental, indispensable basis of human society (1); that it consists of a man and woman lawfully wedded in a secure family home where natural or adopted children can be lovingly nurtured to maturity (2). We affirm that heterosexual, monogamous marriage is God-ordained as the foundation of the family (3), and that any other form of union whatsoever is Biblically prohibited (4). We believe that widespread violation of these prohibition s inevitably leads towards moral collapse and social disintegration. (1) Matt.19:4-6; Mark 10:6-8 (2) Micah 4:4 (3) 1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:6 (4) Lev.18

3. SEXUAL ABERRATIONS It should be beyond the power of any legislative or administrative body to recognize, affirm, condone, or discriminate in favor of, identifiable sexually aberrant individuals or groups (1). (1) 1Tim.1:9-10, Rom 1:26-27, Lev.18:22, Lev.20:13, Is.5:20

I agree with C38 on this one. I didn't support his/her inclusion of Bev Desjarlais in this category, and I'm worried s/he might be casting the net a bit too wide with some choices -- but the CHP is pretty much an open-and-shut case on this front. CJCurrie 05:24, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As long as it is clearly understood that a true disciple of Christ, while upholding the laws set down by Christ's father, also expresses no hatred for homosexuals. CHP opposes such "rights" because it understand sexually deviant/immoral behaviours to be an obstacle to reconciliation with God and an obstacle to eternal life in Heaven with God and with Christ. adding term "evangelical" to one/some/many candidates' profiles[edit]

Re adding to mine, I imitate Mohandas Gandhi in saying, "and not a very good one!" (line heard in the movie "Gandhi" when being interviewed by the press on his practice of his beliefs - surely in jest he said it, as he strikes me as exceptionally devoted to his beliefs, but did not want to claim any status as a perfect practicer). I say it because I am by nature a shy person for establishing personal friendships, and so am not very vocal, although it moves me deeply with concern for those not yet going to heaven.
