ICAC guff[edit]

Irregularities were not found in Hartcher's finances. His campaign/office manager (a building contractor) withdrew $5k in cash from one of his own business accounts. There was no evidence that Hartcher received the $5k. It was speculated that the manager had a gambling problem, but ICAC did not bother to question him about the fate funds.220.244.73.170 (talk) 05:24, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The amount was $4,000 originally received as a donation to the Liberal Party, but banked into an old account under the name "Hartcher-Reid", which was an old account that was formerly used when Hartcher was working as a solicitor - decades before his political career. The name of Hartcher's campaign manager was Raymond Carter, who would take responsibility for thousands of dollars of donations leading to the March 2011 State election. ICAC found that Carter withdrew the amount in cash, and so its eventual destination was essentially untraceable.TheBustopher (talk) 17:51, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
