Weasel words / unverifiable statment[edit]

After reading

and are seriously looking for an attack fighter role to go along with the F-16 to make
up the strongest, powerful and intimidating fighter tandem in South America.

I decided to remove

to make up the strongest, powerful and intimidating fighter tandem in South America.

because the statement was unverifiable. Besides, I am chilean and I am unaware of this. If anyone has a source for this phrase, please accept my apologies and re-insert the sentence in the article. --_N_e_g_r_u_l_i_o 06:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This paragraph:

The F-35 has been offered formally to the Chilean Air Force to replace their old F-5E for the year 2015, according to Lockheed Martin because it is difficult in the next few years to continue in the production F-16, that plane has just acquired FACH, so they can choose the F-35 as a replacement plane for its old aircraft.

There is no evidence about any offer from LM to the Chilean Air Force related to the F-35... Just rumors in some internet forums. Greetings.-Cloudaoc (talk) 20:36, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually look in the Eurofighter's page where it mentions the FACH as a potential buyer. No idea about the F-35 though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.189.170.71 (talk) 18:42, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Post about 30+ Eurofighter Typhoon purchase[edit]

Someone posted that Chile actually purchased more than 30 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters. I couldn't find news about this specific purchase. According to several news sources, Chile is interested in acquiring these planes and there have been meetings between the Chilean AF commander in chief and certain european operators of the aforementioned aircraft but considering the fact the last purchase consisted in a very limited amount of F-16s --which are considerably cheaper than the Eurofighter aircraft--, which is, in total, priced in a value equivalent to all the current Chilean F-16 fleet combined, I realized that the claim was indeed unlikely and probably untruthful, so I removed it. Future Aircraft: A400M[edit]

Should the Airbus A400M also be added to the Future aircraft section of the article since in 2005 a DOI (similar to the one of the KC-390?) was signed?[1][2] Best regards, Get_It (talk) 23:57, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
