Assessment of Article Draft[edit]

Revisions necessary

You are almost ready for mainspace but there a few things you need to fix beforehand:

  • All film titles should be italicized.
  • Fix your citations - they are all missing key information. Make sure that all references include the author, article/book title, journal/magazine title or publisher info, number and volume (if known), and the date published.
  • Also, some of your references are not ideal. For instance, the Focus Features website is promotional and you should try to find the biographical information from a more "independent" source. Similarly, the NY African Film Festival bio actually refers to two different sources where they got their information from. You should check those sources and use those instead (or at least use them in addition to the festival's website). You should make it clear that the NY Film Academy is an interview with the director (it's even in the title, which you've not included).

Norwegian?[edit]

The lead says Anadu is Norwegian, but the rest of the article talks about Nigeria. Is this a typo? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 02:29, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review[edit]

This page has good amount of information about the author to know who she is. And you only used independent and reliable sources for creating this page, which means this page only contains true information, so it is excellent. Each section has almost equal amount of information and the paragraphs are well written without grammatical errors. However it would be better if you add a filmography section and links such as Nigeria and England. Overall this page is great. Tcha23 (talk 12:36, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Tcha23: Country names should usually not be linked per WP:OVERLINK. GoingBatty (talk) 05:49, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review[edit]

I think you have written an interesting article and I think you make good use of short sentences which make it clear and easy to read. I would suggest that in the introduction (the Lead) that you cut out the short films she's done, I think it is good to keep the film she is best known for, especially because it has a wikipedia page of its own, but I think you should add a "Filmography" section and list all her work there. One of the other strengths of your introduction is that it points out the issues that Anadu is known for exploring in her film, I would just add a little more information on this so the reader has a better idea of the context in which she is addressing the "cultural pressures surrounding tradition" - which culture? Whose traditions? I think just being more specific here will help the reader get a better understanding of the specific issues that Anadu addresses in her work. One other thing about the introduction, is your filmmaker Norwegian? I think this might be a typo for Nigerian.

In the Early Life section it would be useful to add what school she went to and the years she attended. The Career and Education paragraph can probably be just called "career" because you cover information about her education in the "Early Life" section. You mention that in 2008 she begins to work in television and film production, is it possible to get more information on this? Such as what studios or companies she worked for? It would also be interesting if you could expand more on why she felt unsatisfied with her lack of experience - was she having trouble working in film and television production? It would also be useful to add information about her company, No Blondes Production - did she found this company? What is her role there? What is the mission or goal of the company?

I would also suggest revising the part about the New York Film Academy and the Cannes program she applied to. For the New York Film Academy it would be helpful to have some more information about why the Academy came to Nigeria and what its goals were - does this Academy travel to other countries as well? Her involvement in the Cannes program is a little unclear - "14 page treatment" is a little confusing, is that the application? And expanding on what the program entails and what she learned from the program would also be interesting if that information is available. I would also suggest adding an "Infobox" to her page.
