A chicken sandwich

  • ... that war erupted in 2019 over a fried chicken sandwich (pictured)?

  • I would like to do a full review of this (I will probably do so tomorrow), but just on a cursory read, I think that one of the major implications made by this article is absurd. Most, if not all, of these restaurants have had chicken sandwiches for a very long time (I have quite vivid memories of my friend teaching me how to make these in March 2012). jp×g 09:09, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's hard to tell from that grainy photo, but it appears to be a grilled chicken sandwich and not a menu item. This article is about fried chicken sandwiches that are regular menu items. I've sprinkled "fried" - from the sources - more consistently throughout the article than it was previously, however, to clarify this point. Chetsford (talk) 15:45, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay, that makes a little more sense, lol. jp×g 23:38, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Newly created article, large enough, sourced enough, neutrally written. The hook is interesting based on the "war" framing. Earwig says a copyvio is unlikely. QPQ is done. Good to go. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:20, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wendy's[edit]

This article wrongly suggests that Wendy's added fried-chicken sandwiches only very recently. The truth is that Wendy's has sold same since at least 1989. SlyGuyFox (talk) 05:07, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And the same is true of Burger King but even more so, given that Burger King was selling fried-chicken sandwiches as long ago as 1979. SlyGuyFox (talk) 05:08, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

First chicken sandwich?[edit]

"The phenomenon began in 2019 when the Popeyes and Chick-fil-A chains disputed which of them was first to serve such an item."

I don't think Popeye's ever claimed to be the first to serve chicken sandwiches. As far as I know, the "dispute" was over whose sandwich was better, not first. This should be corrected or properly sourced if true. 70.178.58.115 (talk) 15:25, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
