Sentence needs a reference[edit]

DrHume (talk · contribs), an apparent WP:SPA, added this sentence without supplying a reference:

  • There is evidence that they served at times as Chief Powhatan's mercenary police force where they were directed by him to enforce the laws and quell fighting between other members of the confederacy.

I just removed it, and am mentioning it here in case an editor wants to find a source for this statement. 67.100.127.80 (talk) 02:37, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

burnt-over district[edit]

History, 5th paragraph, last sentence: this seems to refer to an area where records were destroyed because of wars and upheaval in the late 18th century. The link redirects to "Burned-over district", which is about a religious revival in Western New York state in the early 19th century. Perhaps the solution is to remove the link.
