Recently added text[edit]

I removed the following text from the article. It may have some potential value, so I'll leave it here until someone can add clear sources, clean up the prose, and integrate the content with the existing text:

The first Chicago Children's Museum began as the Midwest Children's Museum and was started by educators-Diane Bassman,Arlene Hauser, and Dr.John Wozniak. It was reincorporated a year later as the Chicago Children's Museum (a name suggested by Ed Kenefick, husband of trustee, Ana Kenefick). It was a museum without walls, looking for a home;it provided the first"hands-on with understanding" programming for children in the city of Chicago. The trustees were representatives from most Chicago neighborhoods. They were teachers, scientists, artists, specialists in many fields willing to lend their expertise. This board was one usually put on advisory councils, but here, they had actual decision-making power to enable the best possible experiences for children. Michael Spock,Steve Caney came from Boston to give them input. Lee Hayward of the Denver Children's Museum (started in the same way at the same time) came and provided his advice. Diane, having been a former Homecoming Queen at the U of Ill, Navy Pier, asked for space at Navy Pier (as recorded in a video of an event there created by Margie Korshak)The space not forthcoming, the Chicago Children's Museum continued with their "happenings" which included the Salute To Illinois, The Bicentennial Parade and Programming on State St. and on and on. In later years, two members of the Junior League came to a meeting of the Chicago Children's Museum at the home of Trustee,Yolanda Federici (then head Children's Librarian,Chgo Public Library)The original trustees continued with the Chicago Children's Museum without a home, and gave proposals documenting their research and volunteer work on behalf of CCM. They did not hear from the 2 Jr Leaguers again. The Junior League used the info given to them by the CCM.From the info, they went on to find a group (ERC) working with the Chicago Children's Museum. The Jr League and ERC began"Express-Ways". They got the idea, but the substance of the original Chicago Children's Museum was lost
