Admin centre?[edit]

Any news on which town will be the main admin centre for the new authority? David (talk) 18:22, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's to be confirmed, but pick one from Crewe, Macclesfield or Congleton. Crewe is biggest, Macclesfield is most central, but Congleton has the nicest offices, so with my cynical hat on, it'll probably end up being Congleton. Neıl 11:09, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Does Congleton okay, I believe you . Sandbach has the newest building at Westfields they are very new and they are also very Central far more than Macclesfield and it is easier to get to by the motorway. ARBAY (talk) 22:44, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It has been decided that administration will all be at Westfields in Sandbach with Meetings swapping between different venues.[ http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/news/Westfields-extended/article-231198-detail/article.html] ARBAY TALKies 11:28, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just been confirmed that it will be Sandbach. Richard B (talk) 11:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Will East Cheshire council be keeping any of the other sites or will Sandbach be the only council building they will operate -anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.228.59 (talk) 18:51, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rationale[edit]

What was the justification for scrapping the previous system of local government in Cheshire, which seemed to work satisfactorily? Reorganisations are expensive and disruptive, and the rates went up, albeit not by much. How will the success of the two new unitary authorities be measured?Ausseagull (talk) 21:42, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I am aware the rationale was efficiency, i.e. saving money. The chnnges were more or less imposed by central government; I don't remember there being much will in the community, and the ugly split into two wasn't a popular decision. Dadge (talk) 14:52, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Parliamentary Constituencies[edit]

I was of the impression that the Eddisbury constituency was part of Cheshire West and Chester and not Cheshire East however Stephen O'Brien is listed as an MP representing Cheshire East in the side box of the Cheshire East page can anyone confirm this information and if correct make the appropriate changes. MikeJKemp (talk) 21:54, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bits of the Eddisbury constituency are certainly within Cheshire East - as our article says, Acton, Audlem, Bunbury, Minshull, Peckforton, and Wrenbury were transferred from Crewe & Nantwich to Eddisbury in the 2007 boundary adjustments, but they're still part of the council area. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 23:26, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox glitch[edit]

The "motto" field in the infobox gives "Motto of the County Council". However, Cheshire East has a Borough Council. This is clearly a feature of the Template:Infobox England county unitary. Unfortunately Template:Infobox England borough unitary or indeed Template:Infobox England district unitary do not exist so I'm not sure how to fix this? The Wrong Ms Bruce[edit]

I edited the list MPs as it linked to the wrong Fiona Bruce.109.154.67.142 (talk) 20:28, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
