This village of Cheruvadi is not found in the villages of Kozhikode district in the National Panchayat Directory. See Village Panchayat Names of Kozhikode, Kerala and the villages listed under each panchayat village. However, several websites list Cheruvadi under PIN (Postal Code) 673661: List of Post Offices for Pin Code 673661 (6 Offices); Places with Pin Code = 673661; 673661 Pincode - Post Office Search (KOZHIKODE, Kerala). Interestingly enough, the other villages listed for PIN 673661 are also not in the National Panchayat Directory (NPD). The article mentions that the local mini stadium was built with aid from the Kodiyathur Panchayat, which might lead one to suppose that Cheruvadi was under the Kodiyathur Panchayat. However, only a single village is listed in the NPD for Kodiyathur Panchayat, namely Kodiyathur (2011 Census Village Code: 627421). According to the 2001 Census, the village of Kodiyathur had a population of 26,429, but if that were not the population of a single village, but rather of the whole gram panchayat, that would explain this discrepancy. The census simply didn't enumerate on a village basis in Kozhikode. Cheruvadi also doesn't seem to appear on maps, which is understandable if it isn't acknowledged in the census. One map does not show it put provides Latitude : 11.2779 N and Longitude : 75.98426 E which is in rural Kodiyathur. That site also lists it in Kozhikode Taluka; however, Kodiyathur is listed in the NPD as being in Kunnamangalam Taluka. That may be because in 2001 there were only four talukas in Kozhikode district (Kozhikode, Vadakara, Koyilandy and Thamarassery), but by the 2011 census there were twelve (Balusseri, Chelannur, Koduvally, Kozhikode, Kunnamangalam, Kunnummal, Melday, Panthalayani, Perambra, Thodannur, Thuneri, and Vadakara). --Bejnar (talk) 05:37, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
