"NC-4" ?[edit]

Is Charlotte Route 4 ever designated as "NC-4"? The NC 4 (disambiguation) page says so (or at least it used to), but this page makes no mention of any such designation. Thanks... Rocinante9 18:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Source help[edit]

Well, apparently most of my sources for Charlotte 4 have died. NC Roads no longer exists and apparently the NC Roads Annex forgot to pick up Routes 1-5, so that doesn't help the situation. All I have to show that the route exists are many maps and pictures of the route signs. The info in this article is essentially accurate, as NCRoads did the proper research, which is now lost to us. So, if anyone can find any good sources for Charlotte Loop Route 4, post 'em. --TinMan 18:34, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

History notes[edit]

The following portions existed before the loop was put together: (1907 1923 1974 more, particularly 1962 and 1975; 1976 NCDOT is also interesting)

  • Interchange with I-85 served Mulberry Church Road
  • Yorkmont Road was paralleled
  • Woodlawn Road, Tryon Street to Fairfax Drive (originally part of Fairfax Drive east of Pinehurst Place)
  • Barclay Downs Drive, Michael Baker Place to Runnymede Lane
  • Runnymede Lane, Barclay Downs Drive to Sharon Road
  • Sharon Road, Runnymede Lane to Wendover Road
  • Wendover Road, Sharon Road to Randolph Road
  • Beal Street, Ellington Street to Beal Street
  • Brookhurst Drive, Monroe Road to Crater Street
  • Eastway Drive, Independence Boulevard to Sugar Creek Road (originally named Potters Road north of Shamrock Drive; Eastway Drive turned west on Shamrock Drive to The Plaza)
  • Highway Place, Eastway Drive to The Plaza
  • Sugar Creek Road, Atmore Street to I-85
    • The Independence Boulevard interchange and through-routing of Sugar Creek Road were the first improvements.

Shield[edit]

Here's a photo; it looks like the shield could use a bit of improvement. --NE2 22:03, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What prohibits this article from GA status so I can upgrade it?--Ncchild (talk) 01:32, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
