more detail[edit]

while there is a reasonable accounting of positions held during military career, not much detail on some things of what exactly he did while in those, then, CIA section especially truncated (& for one of longest serving deputy directors!) some amount of detail & info from this far back not so so hard to get Ooma Huntress-Protectress (talk) 03:31, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm at AFHRA and I've pulled Cabell's files. I agree with your concern re: his status as one of the longest-serving DDCIA, given the fact his files show Dulles himself revealed to the White House that Cabell had declined a 4-star slot so he could remain at CIA. (Dulles then labored to pin Cabell a fourth star in spite of DOJ's objections because, well, that's CIA for ya.) I'll {be bold} in fleshing out his page and of course I'm always happy if somebody notices I need a minor course correction! Rob Rosenberger (talk) 02:18, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
