Regarding the "citation needed" tag on the date (October 12, 1933) of ordination, my own Line of Priesthood Authority provides the date. I don't have access to the Church archives in Salt Lake City, UT, but received my Line of Priesthood Authority from the Church History Department (back in about 1990 to 1992; I don't remember exactly) back when they would research these lines for members who requested it. They no longer do this service, I am sorry to say, but as I understand it, members are free to go in person and do their own research.

According to my Line of Priesthood Authority, "Charles A. Callis was ordained an Apostle on 12 October 1933 by Heber J. Grant, who was ordained an Apostle on 16 October 1882 by George Q. Canon, who was ordained an Apostle on 26 August 1860 by Brigam Young, who was ordained an Apostle on 14 February, 1835 under the hands of the Three Witnesses...."
