Preview on Last Laugh 2005

After viewing this on Comedy Central on 12/11/05, Comedy Central makes it seem as though the show will have a complete 3rd season. Anyone have any insight into this? --Aleck79 07:07, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Aleck, Comedy Central tried to make it seem that way as best they could, but even on their site it makes clear that it will be only four half-hour episodes, just what they shot before his departure. TrafficBenBoy 14:00, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Missing Skits

There is at least one episode missing off of the DVDs. I am not sure which one, or I would have edited the page. But this skit involed Chapelle getting Snoop Dogg and some famous pimp high, and then having them write a 100 word essay on "what america means to you". This was not on either of the DVD sets, but was definitely a part of the show.

NOTE: I am edititng this page to reflect my knowledge, and hope that someone can help further elucidate the facts.

As many other musical performances were not included due to licensing fees, this skit was likely categorized as such, even though it was an "outtake" from the set Dave showed during the regular season. This is speculation on my part, I would have to do more research to verify it. --Kevin Walter 12:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Run time

The "run time" needs to be corrected, as the show fit into a 30-minute time slot including all commercials. Subversive 10:58, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

The show itself, not counting commercials, is around 18 minutes an episode. The commercials are not part of the show, and do not add to the actual show's run time. Dudewhiterussian 02:58, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Rumor control

Let's not report every rumor floating around regarding Dave's "disappearance." The hospital thing is being reported by EW so that's a legit source. Drug use and censorship issues are unsubstantiated and have been formally denied. --feitclub 02:17, May 12, 2005 (UTC)

Neal Brennen

Why is their no mention of Neal Brennen Chappelle's writting partner and co-creator of the chappelle show in this article. One of the reason's for the show demise, was the departure of Brennan as Chappelle's writting partner.

Seinfeld Reference

The format of the show begins with Dave doing a short stand-up in front of a live audience and then moves into a pre-recorded skit that features Dave as well as other cast members as fictional characters. (This was also the original format of Seinfeld

The opening features Dave intoducing a skit not going into a standard stand up routine as in Seinfeld. As well in Seinfeld the opening skit had little to do with the actual episodes plot line.

The fame didn't drive Dave away.

"Dave returned shortly thereafter and quelled rumors of psychiatric or substance abuse problems, and emphasized that his trip was a "spiritual retreat" intended to keep his sense of reality outside the bubble of intense pressure and fame and to keep his humor fresh."

Dave stated in his Oprah interview that the fame wasn't the reason for his trip but more of the what his work environment had become. This should be corrected IMO.

UK Update?

On January 24, 2006, the show will premiere in FX UK, starting from Season 2. The first episode will feature the "Slow Motion" skit, one of the most famous in the United Kingdom, popularized by the internet.

Too many "popular" skits

Nearly every episode in the history of CS has been listed! I think it needs to be trimmed down greatly. Not every funny skit was "popular" - O'Dweeds, Popular Moments...History and Blackzilla come to mind right away. I think any more than about seven is overkill. There's also way too much POV in this article; statements like "extraordinarily well", "easily the most" and "most violent" have no place on Wikipedia. Jennifer 04:44, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Popularity of a skit is only personal opinion, i personaly think blackzilla is hilarious, the best way to do it would be stating most of the skits in the Best of Chappeles show season 1 and 2

Grandfather reference unsubstantiated

"... Clayton Bigsby ... a biography of a blind white supremacist who is not aware that he is actually a black man. ... The character is loosely based on Chappelle's grandfather."

The character of Clayton Bigsby was inspired by Dave Chappelle's grandfather. He was a blind Caucasian who was abandoned as a baby and raised by African-Americans. So because of his upbringing and his inability to see himself, he considered himself African-American.

Dun Duh Duh awards?

Internet Leak

On July 12th, 2006, the internet pirate group EZTV released the second and third of the lost episodes before they had been aired on Comedy Central.

I think this is relevant due to the controversy surrounding the airing of the episodes on Comedy Central.

YouTube Leak

There have been several edits regarding the release of the Lost Episodes on YouTube, the latest of which claimed they were "under rights," which I assume meant Comedy Central released them. I found no record of this as a press release, not to mention I find it very hard to believe considering Comedy Central has their own video service on their own site, MotherLoad. A simple YouTube search returned multiple copies of the show (as I assumed), which is the same results for just about every other TV show or movie. A YouTube leak is not relevant just to Chappelle's Show, as it is a problem for thousands of TV and movies today. Guest star appearance in Lost Episodes

In one of the lost episodes (with "The Monsters"), someone plays the agent of the mummy, it looked like Bobby Lee, but I can't remember if it was or not. Possible mistakes

In the slavery reparations episode, doesn't it say that he (Tron) is the richest man in the world, and that he is known only as "Tron"? I could be wrong, but I just watched the episode last night. Does anybody know if I'm right or wrong? 72.11.37.92 23:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
