Untitled[edit]

Sorry, I think there's a mistake in this article: in the text is written that Chantilly is part of the Paris' region, but in the "administration" is written it's part of Picardy region...

An Italian Wiki-aholic (sorry for my bad english)

  • The Picardy region is distinct from Ile de France.
  • The Paris area *may* extend into Picardy

I am not certain whether it is considered part of the metropolitain area but it is close enough to be considered a affluent exurb Elinruby (talk) 22:00, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

boatloads more stuff on the french wikipedia page[edit]

Will try to get back to this. Should anyone happen by that wants to fix the missing accents in the stuff I translated today, that will be wonderful, if not they'll have to wai till I come back, cause I gotta go Elinruby (talk)

taking a break from this. Will try to come back soon and correct missing accent. There is still a lot more material on the French Wiki.Elinruby (talk) 01:10, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

translation tag[edit]

Probably enough info here already to require this. For the sake of clarity I am not directly translating though, just taking information from the French page and adding it to the English one, since their organization is somewhat different and the English page is quite substantive already and contains information that does not seem to be on the French page. note -- translation is not done, nor close to done.

translation notes[edit]

this should be regarded as a rough translation until further notice. There may be more on the French article than we really want but for now I am translating pretty much everything there. There is a lot as this town is quite famous in France. In a couple of places I found the wording puzzling and may need to look at the references to make sure I understand. Things I want to get back to:

  • chase group?
  • how does an airfield disappear?
  • I am not really sure I understand the way allotment is used in the original, ie does it mean lot or subdivision?

By the way, I have linked to the French Wikipedia in cases where articles exist there on somewhat obscure topics, and also a couple of times when I was having trouble determinine which article applied in English. Le grand Conde is an example of this. Elinruby (talk) 07:06, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think I got le Grand Conde figured out, will check it out when I come back. Further translation note -- although officier usually translates as officer I think that in the context of the court it is something closer to office-holder, signitary, official, or something like that. Will figure out what to do about this. Elinruby (talk) 01:13, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

added translation work in progress tag[edit]

Someone (thanx Mathglot) pointed out some translation templates to me and yeah, this article has a lot more information available on the French wikipedia if anyone is interested in working on it Elinruby (talk) 22:00, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

note: this is considered a good article on the French wikipedia and there is considerable history associated with the town Elinruby (talk) 22:35, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
