CEDRO

The abbreviation stands for 'Centro de Información y Educación para la Prevención del Abuso de Drogas' (information- and education-centre for prevention of drug abuse). CEDRO is a private non-profit institution in Lima which was established by some Peruvians in 1986. They set their special focus on work with street childs, because especially they are in danger of drug abuse. For this purpose CEDRO has in Lima also his own asylum for kids. Further objectives and working methods are:

• To clarify the population about drug abuse and his consequences (in the form of attendance at masses, lectures and also workshops)

• Especially to protect endangered groups of drugs, e.g. street childs. For this reason they are offer them expedient recreational activities like music-courses, drawing-courses, sporting events or language-courses.
